High School Recruiting Programs

The Business Diversity Initiatives Office  provides on and off campus programs to high schools  throughout the State of Connecticut with the goal of increasing diversity in the School of Business and at the University of Connecticut.

Summer Business Academy (SBA)

SBA is a 3 week day program for 15 – 25 high achieving college-bound students who are interested in pursuing careers in business; Marketing, Management, Information Systems, Finance, Health Care Management, Real Estate and Urban Economics, Insurance and Accounting. The program will take place at the UConn Storrs campus, and students selected for the program must plan on participating for the full three weeks.

Teenage Business Program

The Teenage Business Program was initiated over 20 years ago to recognize that greater minority participation in the business sector can only be achieved through the foundation of a quality education and opportunities for students to engage in skill development activities before college.

Travelers EDGE

Travelers EDGE is an innovative educational opportunity developed by Travelers Companies, Inc. Travelers recognizes that students are the leaders of tomorrow who are in the classrooms of UConn today. This unique program will give underrepresented and first generational students resources and support to enhance their degree and make them more competitive in the business world.

Gender Diversity in Technology

The School of Business works to correct the imbalance of gender diversity in technology and computing because gender diversity positively correlates with a larger workforce, better innovation, and increased business performance. Increasing the number of women in technology and computing also has the potential to improve the design of products and services to better serve a more diverse population, and increase economic and social well-being by providing more women with stable and lucrative careers.

University Open House

The Business Diversity Initiatives Office administrators and current students are available during Open House to discuss and meet with prospective students and their families to discuss our programs and opportunities.
